*This is a group e-mail sent to all Toronto International Film Festival Group (TIFFG) volunteers.*
This is it, we're here in the thick of the Festival and up to our ears in great films (1), great news (2), and exciting celebrity sightings (3). In that order:
2. Festival Centre is on it's way. Michèle Maheux, Managing Director of the Toronto International Film Festival announced last night that we have raised $132 million of the $166 million we are seeking to build the new Festival Centre at John and King Sts. 3. Yesterday, the fabulous crew of Ace volunteers were paid a visit by the one and only Roger Ebert, as he poked his head into the Volunteer Office's Ace Lounge looking for directions to the Press Office. Who says that Aces have more fun? We do!
And now, here are some quick notes and Volunteer Opportunties:
* You can now redeem your pink vouchers at the Advance Public Box Office (Manulife Centre) for tickets to Festival Public Screenings. Details on how to redeem you pinks are on the reverse of the voucher.

* Remember that if you absolutely must cancel a shift (and we cannot stress enough how important it is that you do not cancel shifts willy-nilly), you must give at least 72 hours notice. Volunteer Opportunities in the next few hours or days
What to do if you want to volunteer: Below are this week's volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in any of them, please follow the directions and e-mail me or the staff person (Mbabazi, Anja, Steven, Dan, Lucy, Elvie or I) in charge of the position with the appropriate subject line.
You will receive a confirmation e-mail only if you are selected for any of the shifts below. Regretfully, due to the volume of e-mails our staff receive, we will not be able to let you know if a particular shift has already been filled. Let us know if you are interested in volunteering for more than one shift, that way if your first choice has been filled, you may still get your second choice. We welcome responses from first-time volunteers, so please don't be shy!

Gallery Assistant
Dates : September 12 and 13
Time : 4:30pm to 8:30pm
Duties : Watch equipment in a the gallery, and ensure that patrons do not touch anything.
Need : 1 volunteer (same person for both days)

Gallery Promoter
Dates : September 12 and 13

Duties : Engage the public passing by the gallery and increase the number of patrons flowing through the gallery.
