From TIFF to MIFF using SWA
A deep semantic web analysis (SWA) of two subjects: the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and McLuhan International Festival of Future (MIFF) shows significant correlation (+0.8) between them. The link is William Marshall & Co. They are the medium.
We are still preparing our review of the rest of the film festival, and tomorrow we are ready to start to volunteer for the MIFF. Volunteering options are opened and MIFF is looking for "enthusiastic, motivated go-getters who are eager to participate in a world-class festival that examines the future of culture, community, business and technology."
If interested, please contact Karen Sihra at ksihra@mcluhanfestival.com.
We would like to discover relationships between Karl Popper's ideas (third world of ideas) and Marshall McLuhan's ideas (digital media).

Hi Olga,
Did you enjoy TIFF?
Any favorites?
Hi Girish:
Did I enjoy the festival?
Oh, yes. Every day I came down to the Box Office to exchange my voucher on a ticket: a movie per day. So, my choice was absolutely conscious: Russian movies, about Russia or former Soviet Union. From this angle I have chosen Ballets Russes, The Sun, Bed Stories with Twilight, Dreaming of Space, The District!, and Workingman’s Death. We Feed the World was chosen ‘cos it is interesting to know who feeds the world; Brooklyn Lobster ‘cos it smells Red Lobsters and sounds of Brooklyn, Into the Great Silence ‘cos it promises to show the daily rituals of one of the most ascetic monastery in the world. That silence was full of meaning. The last chosen movie was The Mavericks: Ivan Reitman ‘cos he looks like a twin brother to one of our best friend Pasha (PAH-sha) with authentic sense of humor, diction, intonation, est. and ‘cos we are proud Canadians.
Any favorites?
You know it looks like I will remember each of them. Later I can continue to detail this topic.
Let’s use your ranking:
Faves:
The District! is N%1.
Workingman’s Death
Pretty Terrific:
Bed Stories
Into the Great Silence
We Feed the World
Good & Solid:
Brooklyn Lobster
Dreaming of Space
The Sun
Others — some interesting, some disappointing:
Ivan the Maverick
Twilight
I would like to hear your conversations with your Mom. It is very moving, funny, and educating.
~Olga
